I’m not going to get all that into it, except to say Ray Winstone, Jim Broadbent, and John Hurt are all utterly misused and underutilized in this snoozy picture.
The Huston Chronicle’s Amy Biancolli sums up my thoughts on the film almost exactly:
“It’s not bad, exactly. It’s not a desecration of the franchise. It’s just . . . tired.”
Further on in her review she mentions National Treasure 2: Book of Secrets. There are scenes in the new Indiana Jones movie that are BETTER in Jon Turteltaub’s film.
On the plus side, David Fincher’s new film, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, looks great.

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button was lovely. Who knew a film could be two minutes long?
